Effective Tommorrow: Entrecard Drop Pages Banned or Else..

30 June 2008

Today I have opened my email messages, and received an important message from the Entrecard Team. Here's the message:

===

Greetings,

This message is to inform you that effective July 1, 2008, Entrecard will be purging from its system the accounts of all members currently operating "Quick Drop Pages". We have assembled a massive list of all quick drop pages, and starting on the above mentioned date, we are going to go through the entire list and close the accounts of all the owners.

To avoid having your account with Entrecard permanently removed, you must take down your quick drop page before July 1. If we open a quick drop page with your widget on it, your account will be removed from Entrecard without warning.

What is a Quick Drop Page?
Here is an example:
http://entrecard.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/screenhunter_02-jun-26-1736.gif
Quick drop pages are single pages with your Entrecard widget, made to load quickly and display your widget and not much else. Many quick drop pages have just a widget, and maybe an ad or some other type of widget. If you have a quick drop page, you must take it down immediately.

Why are Quick Drop Pages bad?

Quick drop pages devalue our network as a whole, by motivating members to drop on the same, quick loading pages, en masse to gain credits quickly and efficiently. Their traffic is going to these quick drop pages instead of being dispersed among quality blogs. It goes against the spirit of Entrecard, and is essentially a scheme to gain credits quickly.

How will you find them?

Luckily for us, people running "quick drop", or "powerdrop" pages have listed themselves all over the internet, and we've amassed a list that we believe includes every power drop page in existence. Additionally, members dropping on "quick drop pages" may start receiving stiff credit penalties for every drop they do on quick drop pages, as it is not a visit to a blog and thus an illegal drop.

For more info see our blog:
http://entrecard.com/blog/?p=399
According to Entrecard, as stated in the site's Terms of Service, everyone operating a quick drop page is devaluing the network by providing an incentive to drop on their quick loading widget-only page. Members are bookmarking 300 of these pages in an attempt to earn credits quickly and efficiently, without actually visiting the blogs in question. This itself constitutes illegal dropping. So not only are quick drop pages now illegal, but our drop-penalty gear may begin inflicting stiff credit penalties, starting July 1, on people dropping on quick drop pages.
I hope everyone having their accounts on Entrecard read the site's blog before tommorow, or else, your ACCOUNT WILL BE DELETED PERMANENTLY.

Real-Life Vampire

23 June 2008

Nope, I'm not joking. I know two people who are indeed, vampires. They rule the night; they are nocturnal beings. the first vampire I know is Jek, my friend. The other one? None other than me. Myself. Believe it or not fellow netizens and bloggers, we've been vampires for sevral months now, doing whatever we want at night, and asleep during the day.

Jek and I have the same problems now, and that is the unusual sleeping habit. when I first texted my friend about my sutuation, Jek simply replied,"Bampira ka na tol gaya ko."("You're now a vampire just like me.") Well I've tried all the ways I know to get rid of this disored, but whenever I close my eyes and try to sleep, things just pop in my mind. I think of my blog, etc. Same as Jek, she also tried her best to avoid it, but she failed.

Now we are textmates. We talk about blogs- and good news I've encouraged her to blog! We talk until 4-5am. Recently, a magazine I've read stated that people who has irregular sleep are 50% more likely to be obese.

Could this be true? Does this mean that it's time for me to visit my doctor?

Do You Know your favorite Naruto Character?

How well do you know your favorite Naruto character?

"Chiyo-baasama" as she is affectionately known, is a retired Hidden Sand ninja. She and her brother Ebizou served as the legendary "sibling" ninjas of their village. In one of the previous Great Ninja wars, Chiyo used her poison skills to affect many enemy ninjas. When her grandson Sasori left the village twenty years previously, she longed to see him again.

Though Chiyo was quite adept at poison making, she was countered with antidotes made by Hidden Leafs "slug-woman" Tsunade. This loss to Tsunade made Chiyo rather bitter in her old age. When Hidden Sand village ninja Kankurou was poisoned in battle by her grandson Sasori, she was called upon by Baki to attempt to help. She stated she couldn't help as she was too old, she would rather just see her grandson. Baki countered that was convenient since the one who hurt Kankurou was that very same man. This stirred Chiyo to action. When she examined Kankurou she stated she could not help him but Tsunade could. Baki countered that Tsunade could not leave Konoha since she was the Hokage now, but that she had sent someone in her stead.

When Temari, Kakashi, Naruto and Sakura arrived in Hidden Sand to help the village, Chiyo jumped to attack Kakashi. She mistook him for his father, Hatake Sakumo, the legendary White Fang of Konoha. Chiyo blamed Sakumo for the death of her son, apparently Sasori's father, though the number of Chiyo's sons in unknown. When her brother pointed out that Kakashi wasn't Sakumo, Chiyo tried to save face by saying she was just joking. Sakura managed to use her healing skills to save Kankurou. When Naruto and his team decided to head out to track down Akatsuki, Chiyo decided to tag along. She brought along a pair of mysterious scrolls which could be used to stop her grandson's schemes.

On their journey to save Gaara, Chiyo revealed she had sealed the Shukaku demon within Gaara. Conceivably she could have also sealed Shukaku within the two previous ninja hosts before Gaara due to her elder age. Chiyo began to regret her past mistakes and resolved to do all she could to save Gaara and her village. When they made it to the Shukaku extraction cave, Chiyo and Sakura found her grandson and fought him. Chiyo's experience and Sakura's power were enough to destroy Sasori's Hiruko form and reveal his "true" appearance within, that of his younger self 20 years earlier. It was then revealed Sasori had killed the Third Kazekage and would use him in battle as a puppet against Chiyo. Chiyo then decided it was best to combat Sasori with the scrolls she had brought along. Chiyo used them to summon two puppets, Sasori's parents who had been made into puppets in the past.

Sasori was amused by this and the parent puppets were eventually damaged. Sakura-s strategy allowed her to destroy the Sandaime puppet, and her constant vigilance and assistance to Chiyo greatly impressed the older kunoichi. Chiyo was forced to pull out her ultimate technique, her ten Chikamatsu puppets which she had inherited from the first kugutsu no jutsu user. Sasori in turn would use his legendary hundred puppet army. Chiyo focused on quality over quantity and with Sakura-s help made destroyed the puppet army. Unfortunately in the process Chiyo became poisoned by one of the blades. Sasori was not finished though, escaping harm to his original puppet body, he moved to another puppet and moved to quickly kill Chiyo.
Sakura jumped to protect Chiyo and took a poison katana through the stomach, critically wounding her. Chiyo was again moved by her actions, knowing their one remaining poison antidote was meant for herself, she instead gave it Sakura. She then did her final acts as a puppeteer, she quickly maneuvered the parent puppets back into the field of battle to pierce Sasori-s chest container where his life essence was housed. After striking an apparent fatal blow, she turned to help Sakura. The dying and immobilized Sasori mocked the two kunoichi but Chiyo revealed her final surprise, a reincarnation jutsu which would allow her to breathe life into the dead in exchange for her own life. A jutsu she was to have used on Sasori's dead parents as a gift to her grandson. Instead Chiyo used her powers to save the young woman who gave her life in battle to protect her, much to Sasori's amused sadness.

After using her jutsu, the group were surprised by the fact Chiyo remained alive, she surmised it was because Sakura was not yet dead. Since he was defeated, Sasori gave Sakura information on Orochimaru. Chiyo then watched as her grandson fell to the ground, dead. She told Sakura she was not responsible for Sasori-s death, he hesitated when the parent puppets came to strike, not moving to avoid them. Severely fatigued and weakened, Chiyo stated she still had more to do so the two kunoichi left to join the others.

Finding the dead Gaara who had been rescued by Naruto, Chiyo used her jutsu one last time. Her final act of redemption was to give up the last of her life-force to Gaara, aided by the chakra of Naruto. She died happily, passing on advice to Sakura and moved by Naruto's heart.

To be honest, I really cried when the group returned to the Sand Village carrying Elder Chiyo's dead body, and everyone paid their respects to the ninja master. And it made me realize that Chiyo Baasama is my favorite Naruto character, and not Gaara! Though her appearance in the series is short, she played a very important part in it, that is why I will never forget her.

The X-Files Second Movie Out This Year

12 June 2008

To all X-Files fans out there: One of these days you will be able to see the official trailer debut of the second X-Files film in cinemas, strating June 13.

The Film titled The X-Files: I want to Believe is scheduled to be released in US theaters on July 25. During the recently concluded WonderCOn held in San Francisco last February 2008, the cast and crew was welcomed with cheers and roars from the audience as they were happy to see Mulder and Scully again, after 10 years.

Carter referred to the title as a "natural title", saying that it pertained to "a story that involves the difficulties in mediating faith and science. 'I Want to Believe.' It really does suggest Mulder's struggle with his faith." Carter also said that he and Spotnitz settled upon the title as soon as they started writing the screenplay. This title is a popular phrase among X-Files fans. It is featured on the poster above Mulder's desk.

Well, what's in store for us in this movie?

-In the movie, Carter promised us that we will see the relationship between Mulder and Scully "in a whole new way."

-Anderson and Duchovny both admitted to returning to the role "woefully unprepared." Said Duchovny: "It's a tricky, interesting challenge to return to a character with an entire body of work behind it." Anderson confessed that she had spent the past few years training herself out of Scully's mannerisms.

-This is for the atheists out there: When asked about the series' religious references, Carter responded that he had always thought of the show as "the search for God." No particular god, but still -- whammy!

Eight Ultraman To Hit the Big Screen This Year!

03 June 2008

From: RoboJapan
FINALLY!

After eight years, the eight Ultraman brothers will come again to be on one movie this 2008! The new film, entitled DECISIVE BATTLE! THE 8 SUPER ULTRA BROTHERS (Daikessen! Cho Urutora Hachi Urutora Kyodai), as you can guess by the title, will feature eight different Ultramen, but who exactly, besides Ultraman Tiga, are not being revealed at this time. An original Ultra Series alumni, Ultraman movie producer, Kiyoshi Suzuki enthusiastically stated, "In recent years, we have pretty much ignored the mythology of the Heisei Ultras, while we have been concentrating on returning to the Ultra Brothers of the Showa Era. Now, we will bring them both together for the first time."

"It's been eight years since Daigo transformed into Tiga," commented Hiroshi Nagano at a recent press conference announcing the new film, "I hope that I will be still able to transform properly for the audience, since it's been so long." Other Ultramen who have returned in their later days to transform again, include the original Ultraman, Susumu Kurobe (67), who appeared in last year's ULTRAMAN MOEBIUS & THE ULTRA BROTHERS, as a senior to the new Ultraman. In the 41 year history of the Ultra Series, the oldest actor to first take the role was 27 year old Yusuke Kirishima, who starred in ULTRAMAN NEXUS (2004).

Pop singer Hiroshi Nagano (35) of the Japanese boy group V6 and the star of ULTRAMAN TIGA will be reprising his role as Daigo, the human form of Ultraman Tiga, in a new feature film produced by Tsuburaya Productions, which will be released in Japanese cinemas, next fall. Nagano last appeared as Daigo in the 2000 film, ULTRAMAN TIGA: THE FINAL ODYSSEY. The ULTRAMAN TIGA television series first debuted on TBS in 1996 ( the series was briefly aired in the US as part of Fox's "Fox Box" children's line up in 2000, and is now available on DVD from Funimation).

Question is: Will the other original cast be on the movie too or is it just Hiroshi? Haha, I'm just curious. :-)
