What's Up? Redlan, MisterHeuge, and Tara.

28 July 2009

It is now morning and I am thinking of what to blog, while watching Fashion TV(multitasking huh). Yesterday I hopped into some of my friends' blogs and see some updates of what's going on with their lives. Most of the ons I visited have updated posts, but the updates I am up to. Most of them posted movie reviews, and some had sponsored blogsposts. The only blogsites I visited that had their personal posts, were Redlan and MisterHeuge(formerly known as Misterhubs). After months of hectic skeds, I finally managed to visit two of my favorite blog. Well, I always visit and read sir Red's posts because first, I can relate some of the things he shares to his friends, and sometimes his posts were inspiring. While Red inspires me, Mister Heuge makes me laugh hard with his classic day-to-day experiences with a touch of humour. Some of his classic articles and my favorite is the lock jaw girl. Who is this lock jaw girl anyway? Well, why don't you visit is blog?

Earlier tonight, I learned that Tara Santelices, the holdup victim that was shot in the head on her 23rd birthday passed away Monday morning. Aw. I thought, she's recovering, but she died due to cardiac arrest. Well personally, I don't know Tara. Except that she is Armie's officemate at UMFI. Whenever I go to their office, either Tara was in field work, or she hasn't arrived. That's why I haven't met her face to face, except for their office pics. But according to Armie, even though Tara is an indie film director and a band guitarist, she is still enthusiastic when it comes to her work as a researcher, telling her co-workers that she dreams of working for the United Nations someday. And she is a good photographer, having seen some of her works taken on their company retreat in Rizal. >

Unfortunately, Cainta Police had declared the case closed, saying they had caught the suspect and shot him down. But according to witnesses from the scene, the man the police caught was not the one who shot Tara.

Up to now the suspect were still at large. Tara's family, friends, and I hope one day that justice will be served. Rest in Peace, Tara.

L4D Enthusiasts! Part 2 is Coming!

25 July 2009

Valve Corporation, maker of the world-renowned game Half-Life and Counter Strike, announced last June 1 that Left 4 Dead 2 will be released this year on Microsoft Windows and XBox 360:

We've just announced that Left 4 Dead 2 is coming later this year! It's a much larger game than the original, and features new co-op and versus campaigns, all-new Survivors, boss zombies, weapons, and items, as well as melee combat. Check out the teaser trailer, and watch this space for more news in the coming days.- L4D.com

Though the players called for for a boycott questioning the appropriateness of the sequel after the first game Left 4 Dead, Valve assured that this does not mean that the corporation no longer support the original.

Plot, Characters, and New Villains.

Left 4 Dead 2, will be set on the southern part of the US from Savannah, Georgia, to New Orleans. and just like the first game, four main characters will be introduced, though the game creators haven't given elaborate background on them:

Coach- no specific name, a high school football coach.
Ellis- a mechanic
Rochelle- a reporter for a local cable company
Nick- a gambler and conman

Two new boss zombies will be added to the game according to Valve. First is the Spitter, a zombie with a long neck and a pot belly, with most of her jaw missing. The Spitter's attack is to vomit a buzzing, orange liquid, in a way similar to the Boomer, but instead of attracting the horde, her spit damages the player over time. The second one will be the Charger, who is as large as the Tank, but has lower health. The Charger pounces like a Hunter and slams players to the ground leaving them helpless until another survivor comes to help. It can move very fast, but only in a straight line.

The First Game.

The first Left 4 Dead game was released last November of 2008. After its release, the game won numerous awards, including Best Multiplayer Game of 2008 by IGN, GameSpy, Spike TV, NoFrag and BAFTA, and Computer Game of the Year by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS), Spike TV, and Bit-tech.

There are four campaigns on this game- No Mercy, Death Toll, Dead Air, and Blood Harvest, that all end up in an intense mission to defend their position from zombie until the rescue arrives.

Personally I love to play this game using the female character, Zoey. She is a horror movie fanatic like me, hehe.

In the recent update, the game second sequel will be released November of this year, so L4D gamers watch out for this. You can watch the teaser trailer on the L4D website.

Farm Town Update

New Release from Slashkey:

We just released a new version of the game. This version contains some small additions:

-Added new extended tools to plow. There is a tool to plow 2 fields and 4 fields at once.

-Improved the speed of plowing, planting, etc. (There is a new option in the "Preferences Window" to disable the new behavior.)

-Fixed the "rogue fields" issue which caused some items to get "lost" in some farms.

-Green dots showing which neighbour is online: We had to disable this due to enormous increase in traffic. We are adding more servers, and this will be enabled back progressively to all users.

-Reported bug: Some users report not being able to see other users. We are currently working on this one. We are adding more capacity, and fixing some bugs. Most users won't be affected by this, but for those affected, it is extremely annoying.

-As a side effect of fixing the "rogue fields" issue, plowed fields will not be able to be placed on top of dirt paths.

My First Baby Post! Yay!

22 July 2009

Every woman's dream is to have their own family and when I say family, that includes children. Before birth, soon to be parents usually buy new clothing for their newborn baby.Well most new mommies care for their babies, some I know doesn't ask for their anyone's assistance. It's like they don't want anyone to touch her baby except her, she was protective. She doesn't want anyhing bad to happen.

When caring for their children, my friends agree that the most crucial part of it was watching theirbabies grow into toddlers, because at this stage, toddlers become more curious of their environment,on what is happening outside his crib or outside his house. They begin to further develop their senses, meaning, they begin to touch not only toys but other things inside the house, they putanything on their mouth, and of course they will begin to have their first step. My friends also told methat this is the time when they all have to put all their attention to them. So when I asked how do they manageto do their work at home while ensuring their kids are safe, they all answered the same thing: giving the baby an activity center,to provide them entertainment, and learning. Last year I accompanied a friend to a baby shop to buythings for her 7-moth old baby girl. There I saw different baby and toddler product, from boys clothing, girls clothing, nursery sets,to toddler clothing, and children's books , toys and games. I was fascinated with the toys, because most of the toys they sell were not just ordinary ones, these toys develop the child's abilities, and that includes, counting, thinking, and physical. Most toys today are interactive so toddlers could have a wonderful time playing it. At the end of that shopping, We went to my friend's house, and her 7-month old babywas so happy to use her new baby walker.

I am not a mother, not a parent.I don't have a child, but based on the stories of motherhood I heard from friends, motherhood is trulythe most unforgettable part of their lives.

Direct TV? Never heard of it But..

16 July 2009

Probably today most households here in the Philippines have cable tv connections. Over the years cable tv provided usmore information, and more entertainment than that of the usual old-school antenna/signal connections. With cable tv ourkids can now watch info channels like NatGeo and Discovery while our boys can now access ESPN or CNN. But have you heared of Direct TV?

The Direct TV system, which started in 1994, is a satellite brodcast service in which it transmits digital satellite and audio tvto households. This is mostly used and popular in the US, Latin America, and Carribean. Compared to the usual cable tv system, directtv uses a small reception antennas that uses more powerful satellite transmissions. In return, subscribers can access hundredsof channels including local channels, and private video services. Subscribers to this system also enjoys watching shows in full digital quality picture and sound.

My relatives in the US are direct tv service subscribers. They prefer this than cable connection. I asked them why, and here's what they said: DTV is way more cheaper than cableSetting it up is easy, and they get to watch shows in high definition quality.

Cool, isn't it? But who knows, you would be using direct tv in your house a couple of years from now.

Farm Town Update: New Game version Released!

11 July 2009

Citizens of Farm Town! Slashkey just released last July 9 the newest version of Farm Town, the fastest growing game on Facebook. This means farming gets better and more exciting.

The new updates of the game are the following, courtesy of Slashkey Forums.

We just released a new version of the game. The main additions include:

* 6 new crops, including a 2 hour Raspberry, and a 4 day cotton.
* several new types of flowers
* ability to take 'zoomed in' snapshots of the farm. (e.g. Window vs. Farm).
* Hire to Plow. This will let you hire employees to go and plow at your farm.

About the hire to plow:
- Employees make 5 coins per field plowed.
- Employers's cost is reduced to 10 or 15, depending if the employee is a neighbour or not.
- Employees can only plow on fields that have been harvested, or that have gone to waste.

After reading the new updates, I immediately went to my FT account and planted cotton seeds. Now I am excited to see it grow. Check out Farm Town now and be one of the proud farmers online. Happy Farming!

Runaways Movie Ongoing

04 July 2009

Kristen and Dakota leave together for their new film

I don't know when will be the release date of this movie, but I can't wait for it. Starring Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning, the movie The Runaways is a biopic of the 70's all-girl rock group, and is currently on shooting. Kristen will play the role of Joan Jett, the band's lead guitarist while Fanning, takes the role of Cherie Currie, the vocalist. It is also that the main plot of the movie revolves around the two major characters, and rumored to have a steamy, hot love scene between K-Stew and Dakota(talk about that, Dakota should be accompanied by parents if that happens, she's just 15!)
